Honolulu International Airport welcomes visitors to the island with excellent facilities and a landscaped interior featuring fishponds, waterfalls, as well as outdoor gardens. It is conveniently located just 3 miles from Honolulu city center and 9 miles from Waikiki Beach.
There are three terminals: Overseas, Inter-island, and Commuter. A free shuttle bus connects all three. Most services are located in the Main Terminal. This Terminal has three concourses: Diamond, Central, and Ewa. It takes 15 minutes to walk from one end of the Main Terminal to the other.
Banking services, ATMs and currency exchange bureaux are widespread. The Bank of Hawaii, open from 08:30 to 16:00 (Mon-Thurs) and 08:30 to 18:00 Fridays, is located opposite the D baggage area in the main terminal. Coin-operated lockers can also be found in the main terminal. A 24-hour medical center is also available.
The airport has two bookshops as well as several convenience stores. Other shops include a toy store, several clothing shops, jewelry and souvenir outlets as well as duty free shopping for last minute shoppers.

Information booths are located in the baggage claim areas of each terminal,

Business facilities
A business center in the Main Terminal is available with photocopying, Internet,
fax, office supplies and stationery, a post office, international telephone
links and PC rental facilities. A second business center is located opposite
gate 25. Conference facilities must be booked in in advance via the Airport
Information Unit ((+1) 808 836 6459) and are situated at the Main Overseas
Terminal and the Inter-island Terminal.
Disability assistance
The airport is accessible by wheelchair and TDD telephones are provided.
Special parking is facilities are also available in the main multi-storey
parking lot.
Public transport
Outside rush hours, it takes about 20 minutes by taxi to get to the airport
from Waikiki city center. The fare will be between $20 and $25, but insist
on a meter.
Bus routes 19 and 20 go to Waikiki and to various other city center locations
from the airport. There are no rail services operating from Honolulu International
Airport.
The Airport Waikiki Express shuttle bus, running from the airport to any
Waikiki hotel is usually $8. This service operates in front of every terminal
building and runs frequently during daylight, around twice per hour.
Private vehicles
To get to the airport, make a left turn just prior to Honolulu Zoo at the
end of main Kalakaua Avenue. On Kapahulu Avenue, continue until you reach
the H-1 freeway and follow the signs westwards. From the airport to Waikiki,
take the ramp leading onto the H-1 freeway eastbound, then follow the signs
for the Nimitz Highway. The highway then leads you into the harbor before
arriving in Waikiki.
Parking is near the airport, and offers short- and long-term parking and valet options. Disabled parking areas are also available. Most airport parking lots are at walking distance from the airport, but free shuttle services run from the more distant sites.
