Kirkwall Airport acts as a base for Loganair's inter-island air service while also offering schedules services to various destinations on the Scottish mainland.
The single terminal is open from 7:30am until 7:45pm Monday-Friday, 7:30am until 6:45pm on Saturdays and 9am until 7.45pm on Sundays. It contains baby change rooms but limited financial facilities.
The airport information desk is located in the main terminal (ph: 01856 886210). The airport's Westray to Papa Westray service, with a flying time of less than two minutes, is the shortest scheduled air service in the world.
A business room is available offering basic meeting facilities plus Internet, fax, and word processing facilities.
There is a café in the terminal building serving meals and refreshments, as well as a general store that sells snacks, newspapers and a small selection of local gifts and handicrafts.
Facilities for disabled passengers include specially designed toilets, wide doorways, ramps, and dedicated parking.
There is a bus service operating between the airport and Kirkwall that meets scheduled arrivals and departures (£2 one-way). Taxis are available at the rear of the terminal.
