Leeds Bradford International Airport is situated in beautiful Yeadon Leeds in the nicely landscaped county of West Yorkshire. It is also sometimes known as Yeadon Airport and services the large cities of Leeds and Bradford and the entire Yorkshire area.

It was until May of 2007 when the airport was publicly owned but it was sold to Bridgepoint Capital for an astonishing £145.5 million and is also known to be the highest airport in England with an elevation of 681 feet.

The length of the runway is over 7,300 feet and can handle very large aircraft and is made of a concrete surface. In 2008 there were well over 2.87 million passengers that passed through the airport.

There are 9 major airlines that fly in and out of the airport including Air Southwest which flies to Newquay and Bristol as well as BMI which flies to Brussels, Glasgow International, and Edinburgh.

Jet2.com is probably one of the more busier airlines with a cargo plane full of destinations to choose from including Alicante, Spain, and Arrecife, Ibiza, Murcia, and Tenerife just from Spain. There are also flights to Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. A lot of the flights are seasonal.

KLM flies to Amsterdam whilst Manx2 flies to the Isle of Man and Ryanair flies to a variety of destinations including Spain, Ireland, Italy. You will also find Pakistan International Airlines which flies to Islamabad. Eastern Airways fills out the remaining list with flights to Aberdeen and Southampton.
