Bristol International Airport Airport Parking

Bristol International Airport is a commercial airport located in the English county of North Somerset. Last year Bristol International Airport was the UK’s 9th busiest airport and saw a massive 6.26 million passengers pass through. This is a steady 5.7% increase since 2007.

The Airport was originally named Bristol Lusgate Airport but it was changed to the most recent name in the month of March during 1997. The airport had been sold to First Group plc which had 51% share and 49% was owned by Bristol City Council.

In 2001 the Airport was then sold to Macquarie Bank and Cintra for a reorted £198 Million. Passenger numbers have seen steady growth thanks to low cost carriers such as Go Fly and EasyJet.

Continental Airlines also became involved by adding a North America route to Newark New Jersey and was a direct flight to Bristol. There are 13 major airlines that fly in and out of the airport including Aer Arann which flies to Cork, Ireland. Air France flies to Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Air Southwest flies to Jersey, Manchester, Plymouth, Leeds/Bradford, and Newquay.

Aurigny Air Services flies to Guernsey UK and Brussels Airlines flies to Brussels, Denmark. Eastern Airways flies direct to Aberdeen UK. Flybe flies to Jersey and KLM flies to Amsterdam. Easyjet which is the major carrier for the airport flies to Spain, Italy, Czechoslovakia, and various locations all over England, Scotland, and Ireland.
